A few good questions.
What to expect, where to begin and how to find the right experience for you.
Can I book yoga, meditation, tantra or energy work?
Yes. Christina offers Yin, restorative, Yoga Nidra, Hatha and Flow yoga, guided meditation, an introduction to tantra—the art of connection—and Reiki or energy work. One-to-one and group formats are available by arrangement. Scheduled classes are listed on Eventbrite; private sessions begin with an inquiry. Scope, preferences, consent, suitability and fees are confirmed beforehand.
Where do I begin?
If you’re unsure what to choose, start with a discovery inquiry. Tell us whether you’re looking for a private RESET, mentorship, women’s health support or workplace programming. We’ll discuss the fit, format and next steps before you book.
How do I book a private RESET?
Email hello@theresetvan.com. We’ll confirm availability, your practitioner, session details, pricing and anything you need to know before your appointment. Private sessions are by appointment in Vancouver.
What is included in the Festive RESET?
The Festive RESET brings together facial care, gentle lymphatic techniques and sound in a 90-minute private experience. See the Festive RESET for the current offer and inquire about availability.
Is Christina the only practitioner at THE RESET?
No. THE RESET brings together different practices and practitioners. Your practitioner and the elements included in your experience are confirmed before booking.
Where can I find group classes and events?
Visit Events for sound, yoga and sound, and other group experiences. Tickets for the featured Sound RESET are linked through Eventbrite. Availability, venue details and event terms are shown in each listing.
Do I need experience with yoga or sound?
Tell us if this is your first session. The format varies, so check the event description or ask us which experience would be a comfortable place to start. You’re welcome to share preferences or access needs before booking.
Can I book a Couples RESET or a private event?
Yes, you can inquire about a shared experience for two or a gathering for your group. We’ll discuss the occasion, location, group size and preferred format before confirming inclusions and a quote. See Events to inquire.
Are virtual sessions available?
Virtual mentorship and nervous system education are available by arrangement. Ask about the format that suits your goals. Online sound experiences will be announced when dates are confirmed.
What is the difference between mentorship and THE RESET?
THE RESET centres on restorative experiences and personal care. Mentorship offers conversation, education and practical reflection on patterns, choices and transitions. Nervous System Intelligence connects personal education through Live Intelligently with workplace education through Work Intelligently.
Who is women’s health support for?
Women, including trans women, are welcome. Menopause conversations also welcome trans men and nonbinary people who experience perimenopause, menopause or surgical menopause. We discuss your needs individually. Support is educational and complementary; medical care is provided by an appropriate healthcare professional.
How do I prepare, and what if I need to cancel?
Preparation and cancellation terms depend on your appointment or event. Ask before confirming your booking. For Eventbrite tickets, review the specific event’s cancellation and refund policy.
Can I ask about skincare products?
Yes. Email hello@theresetvan.com to ask about the products used and carried at THE RESET, current availability and pricing.
How do I inquire about workplace programming?
Start with Work Intelligently. Tell Christina about your organization, audience and goals so you can discuss an appropriate workshop, speaking engagement or program.
Can I read Christina’s writing?
Visit Writing for my current Substack profile. Inquiries and bookings do not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter.
What can microneedling help with?
Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the skin’s repair response and collagen production. It may improve texture, fine lines and the appearance of some scars. Results depend on your skin, device and protocol; they develop gradually and are not guaranteed. We discuss suitability and expectations before booking.
What should I expect during microneedling recovery?
Redness, warmth, tightness and mild swelling can occur. Recovery varies with your skin and treatment intensity, so allow time before an important event. Infection, pigment changes and scarring are possible risks. Ask about your individual recovery plan and contact your practitioner about unexpected symptoms.
What do gentle lymphatic techniques involve?
Lymphatic drainage uses light, gentle massage intended to support the movement of lymph fluid. At THE RESET, these techniques may form part of facial or restorative body care, depending on suitability. Diagnosed lymphoedema, unexplained swelling, recent surgery or cancer-related needs require guidance from your healthcare team and an appropriately trained specialist.
Why include protein in the nourishment conversation?
Protein supplies amino acids used to build, maintain and repair body tissues, including muscle. Include a variety of protein foods as part of everyday eating. Convenient options such as protein pancake mixes or drinks may fit your routine, but do not replace a varied diet. Individual needs differ.
What should I know about bee pollen?
Bee pollen can be an optional addition to food when suitable; it is not a replacement for balanced nutrition or medical care. It can cause severe allergic reactions. Do not use it if you have pollen, bee or bee-product allergies. Check the specific product’s directions and cautions, and ask a healthcare professional if you’re unsure, pregnant or breastfeeding.
How should I prepare for microneedling?
Start with a suitability review and follow the instructions for your specific device and treatment. Share medications, supplements, recent procedures, skin conditions, cold sores and healing concerns. Avoid tanning and tell us about sunburn or active breakouts. Ask when to pause retinoids, exfoliating acids and other active skincare; timing varies. Do not stop prescribed medication without your prescriber’s advice.
How should I care for my skin afterwards?
Follow your personalised aftercare plan. Use only the recommended post-treatment products initially, handle skin with clean hands and do not pick or scrub. Avoid makeup for at least the first 24 hours unless your practitioner directs otherwise. Ask when to resume exercise, heat, swimming, active skincare and hair removal. Protect skin from sun; confirm when to begin sunscreen and which product to use. Seek prompt medical advice for worsening pain, spreading redness, pus or fever.
Can I have microneedling if I have active acne?
Active acne and acne scarring need different approaches. Microneedling is not performed over active inflamed breakouts or infected skin. If you have painful, persistent or worsening acne, a healthcare professional can help bring it under control before scar treatment is considered. Avoid picking or squeezing spots, which can increase injury and scarring.
Can microneedling remove acne scars?
It may soften the appearance of some depressed acne scars, but it cannot promise to erase them. Scar type matters: rolling, boxcar, deep ice-pick and raised scars may need different approaches or specialist assessment. Treatment plans and the number of sessions are individual.
What is a Sound RESET?
A Sound RESET is an immersive listening experience with crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gong and space to rest. You can lie down or sit comfortably while layers of tone, rhythm and quiet give your attention somewhere to land. There is nothing to perform and no need to “get meditation right.” We discuss your comfort, preferences and sound sensitivities beforehand.
What are sound, frequency and vibration?
Vibration is movement back and forth. Sound is a vibration travelling through a medium such as air, water or a solid. Frequency describes how many vibration cycles occur each second, measured in hertz (Hz); it contributes to how high or low a sound seems. Loudness is different from frequency. Instruments create a blend of frequencies and overtones, giving each bowl or gong its distinctive sound.
What can a sound session support?
A session offers time to rest, settle your attention and connect with how you feel. Potential benefits include short-term relaxation, less perceived stress and tension, and a more settled mood. It may be a useful wind-down or meditation practice when sitting in silence feels difficult. Some people find space for emotion, reflection or a sense of connection. Experiences vary; research on singing bowls is still developing, and these sessions are not a treatment for disease.
What do you mean by sound medicine?
Sound medicine describes intentional work with listening, music, voice, rhythm or mantra to explore wellbeing. Traditional and contemporary practices approach it in different ways. At THE RESET, the emphasis is on an experience of rest, presence and connection through sound. For further reading, Sound Medicine: How to Use the Ancient Science of Sound to Heal the Body and Mind explores traditional sound practices alongside perspectives on the mind and body. You can also explore crystal bowl music and meditations.
What is vibroacoustic therapy?
Vibroacoustic therapy uses equipment to transmit low-frequency sound as gentle vibrations you can feel as well as hear. It differs from listening to instruments in the room. Canadian researchers have explored its effects on wellbeing and symptoms in specific clinical settings; that research does not guarantee the same results in a studio session. We discuss the equipment, comfort and suitability beforehand.
How can I help save bees and other pollinators in Canada?
Plant locally appropriate native flowers with blooms across the growing season, protect nesting habitat and avoid unnecessary pesticide use. Even a balcony planter can offer food for pollinators.
How does the six-week personal process work?
We begin with understanding your responses, then build awareness, identify patterns, practice interruptions, create anchors and carry change into everyday life. Personal work starts with six weeks and can continue by agreement. Visit Nervous System Intelligence for the process and explanations of the nervous system, vagus nerve and polyvagal theory.
Can I use extended health benefits or a Wellness Spending Account?
Some employer Wellness Spending Accounts (WSAs) or lifestyle accounts may reimburse eligible wellness services, depending on the plan. Ask your plan administrator about the specific service, provider requirements and receipt details before booking. A WSA is different from a Health Care Spending Account or standard extended-health insurance; reimbursement is not guaranteed. Non-RMT body care is not billed as registered massage therapy.
What should I bring to a group sound session?
Dress cozy and bring an extra blanket, eye mask and any cushion, socks or small comfort that makes your nest your own. Check the event listing for mats, provided equipment and access details.
